Privacy and Cookies Policy
We at Harlow & Fox are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of anyone using our site and the confidentiality of any information that you provide us with. The purpose of this statement is to set out how we use any personal information that we may obtain from you.
How We Use Your Data, and Your Rights
You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to edit it, access it, or remove it. You can contact us at any time to request this, or to withdraw your consent for us to use your data, by emailing us at hello@harlowandfox.co.uk.
If you make a purchase from us, we will collect information from you in order to process your order, and send you information about it, such as order confirmations and despatch notifications. This data is processed through Shopify, which uses US based servers. You can learn more about their compliance, security and privacy policy here.
If you sign up to our subscribers mailing list, we will send you email communications and marketing, such as special offers, details of collection launches, and news about what we have been up to. This data is processed through Flodesk, which uses US based servers. You can unsubscribe or update your preferences for receiving these emails from us at any time by following the link in the footer of every email, or by contacting us at hello@harlowandfox.co.uk.
We may also use information from your product orders or site activity for assessment and analysis, e.g. marketing, customer and product analysis, to enable us to review, develop and improve our services.
We may disclose your personal information to a third party in the event we sell the business, in which case our customer data, such as email addresses on our mailing list, or our database of sales, may be disclosed to the prospective buyer. However, the buyer will also be bound by the same privacy policy as the one you have signed up to, and they will only be able to use the data in the same way we have done. If they wish to do anything different, they will need to contact you to request new permission from you.
We do not sell our customer databases to other companies for them to market to you.
We may also disclose your data if we are under a legal duty to disclose or share it in order to comply with or meet any legal obligation.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your data, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
We hope this explains everything you would like to know about how we use your data, but please do contact us using any of the methods on our Contact Us page if you have any specific questions.
Cookies
Like most websites, we use cookies in order to help our site to work in the most efficient and user-friendly manner, as well as to provide information to us about how our site is being used. They help us to understand how our customers and potential customers use our website so we can develop and improve the design, layout, content and function of the site. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer’s hard drive by websites that you visit. They save and retrieve pieces of information about your visit to the website – for example, how you entered the site, how you navigated through the site and what information and documentation was of interest to you. This means that when you go back to a website, it can give you tailored options based on the information it has stored about you on your last visit.
Some of our cookies are used to simply collect information about how visitors use our website and these types of cookies collect the information in an anonymous form.
Where there is a login process relating to buying products or services from us we also use cookies to store personal registration information so that you do not have to provide it to us again on subsequent visits.
If you are uncomfortable with the use of cookies, you can disable cookies on your computer by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your browser. You can set your browser to reject or block cookies or to tell you when a website tries to put a cookie on your computer. You can also delete any cookies that are already stored on your computer’s hard drive. However, please be aware that if you do delete and block all cookies from our website, parts of the site will not then work. This is because some of the cookies we use are essential for parts of our website to operate. Likewise, you may not be able to use some products and services on other websites without cookies.
